you should be able to get an 02 sensor wrench from autozone. when you go to take it out make sure the engine is warmed up and it will be easier to take out.

Its going to be extremely hard to remove if its the stock one. But you can get the special O2 Socket that might help. I just used an adjustable crecent wrench and alot of sweat... Try to get as much leverage as you can!

Hmmmm do you have any pictures are you sure the bolt is stripped out or is it the wrong size wrech. Chevy used a combination of standard and mm bolts on our cars dont remeber what size the 02 sensor is though
Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
I can look at it and see that it is stripped. Auto zone gave me the tool to take it out but it won't break loose at all. How can u get in there with a wrench. take some the egr stuff out of the way?

Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
you just have to put the wrench in different positions till you find the one that works you wont be able to turn it much but should be able to turn it enough for it to break loose

Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
i guess you could use a troch but you take the chance of burning some wire i just let mine idle up to operating temp then shut it off and it came out pretty easy but i ended up burning my hand i dont know how different your engine bay is since you have a different year but i had just enough room to get it out

Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
just keep trying eventually you should be able to get it to break loose you may end up taking the whole manifold off just to get it out ive had to do that before
Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
i used a zip wheel on a 6 point closed wrench and cut out a slot for the wire and then cut the wrench in half for room to move may be different for you tho good luck

Did mine last week.....soaked it good the night before with PB Blaster then the next day went for about an hour cruise then came home and used a breaker bar with a small extension and the sensor removal socket and it came right out (breaker bar is the key).

Just don't forget to anti-sieze the threads and you wont have that problem. Also helps if you pull it out and reinstall once a year.

Have you tried using 1/2" or 3/4" drive breaker bar with a pipe extension for leverage?

Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
Since you say it is rounded off, have you thought about finding a socket that will fit it very snug like and hammering it on the sensor? Hopefully the fit will be so tight that it won't slip and then try the breaker bar again. Of course if you're successful, you most likely won't be able to use the socket again. I have used this technique myself on other applications. I can always buy another socket. Good luck.

Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
The o2 sensor sockets often flex and skip over the hex. At least my cheapie does.
On my old truck (or was it the 'bird? T'was years ago.) I broke the top off of the sensor and put a regular short socket and breaker bar on the hex and threaded portion left behind. In your case you might be able to get one of those Craftsman bolt-outs on the remains and back it out. After letting the PB blaster soak for a while, days if necessary. Of course once the sensor is broken, there's no going back.
I wouldn't recommend banging a smaller socket on there. Assuming that you could even find room to swing a hammer, you're sharply banging on a fairly thin pipe. I'd hate to see you crack something.

Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
Along with heat and the liquid spray you could also tap the sensor with a rod and a small hammer, sometimes the tapping is just enough to help loosen things up. Later.
Re: How do u take an 02 sensor out. Please help
Stock manifolds or headers? either way you could always remove whatever is on there so you can actually get at it, and if it stock, a perfect excuse for headers...

Putting a torch on the sensor for 15 mintues, after spraying it with pb blaster then taking a 7/8 long socket. hammered it over the sensor. Then used a breaker bar to and it finally broke loose
