new bearings... very tight!
Ok I put new large journel rod bearings in. -.010 size, crank measures 2.0870. it was turned a while back. Crank is in great shape, I just wondered how hard it should be to turn over? Before I could turn motor over fairly easisly with the v-belt pully mod I use a braker bar and its tough. Doesnt bind just has a very snug fit. Very smooth but snug I sed tons of oil when putting the new bearings in so they are VERY well lubricated..... Just curious what weight oil I should run with a .003 gap, and how I should break them in.

you don't really break in bearings. Just drive it fairly easy until the oil is up to temp, then go hard.
10W-30 oil is fine.
what's your endplay?

What are you trying to turn over? Only the crank? Crank and pistons? Crank, pistons and cam with the heads on and plugs in?

I would pull the oil pan and plastigage every bearing. It isn't impossible that one of the journals were turned incorrectly. ESPECIALLY if the crank was the only thing pulled (ie: rings are not new).
Also, was the crank pulled because of bearing failure?
If so it could hane an out-of-round rod end.
