Rotating assembly to tight?
Hey guys, I just reassembled my short block 350 with new hypernutectic pistons, rings reconditioned rods and crank. I ground the top rings down per the instructions but now that it is assembled (heads not on yet) I can bearly rotate it by hand, if i use a ratchet it turns fairly easy but i cant help but think it is not a free as it should be. It does not bind up or anything like that it just feels like the pistons are very tight in the bore. any advice?

all 8 pistons in? I could barely rotate mine over. You're rubbing 8 rings against snug bores, that's tough.
if the bores were honed per the pistons, you're fine. You can check the piston fit with a feeler gauge at the skirt area from the bottom if you want. Should be around 1-2 thou I believe.

Cool thanks, all 8 are in tourqed mains and rods. I checked the skirt it is 2 thous. so i know the pistons are ok and i ground the top ring is it possible that the 2nd ring needs to be ground? just want to make sure be sure befor i put it all back toghther.
