Need help identifyin this head

I have a head from a small block I was going to rebuild. I was in the process of finding out the specs and for one, the heads don't match. They were on the same running motor, but the casting and PN#s are different. I figured one out, but I searched about 3 sources for head numbers and this number, 3886368, isn't on the list, or anything close. I also searched here, but might have missed it, so I'll search again. If I can figure out which of the 2 are better, I will try to find a mate, or sell them both and go aluminum lol.

If anyone can help, that would be great.

What was the # on the other head?

Assuming you mistook 3's, 6's, 8's & 9's for each other, could be 3986336, 3986388 or 3986339. Those are all 70's smogger large chamber 307 or 350 heads. Take another look at the casting number and see if any of those make sense.

Re: Need help identifyin this head

Well, I triple checked and 3886368 was the number that I saw. But I agree, the number just doesn't seem right if it's not coming up on anything else. 462624 is the number for the other head. Now, my first guess on the number was 3986339 for this mystery head. I am going to sell these heads though, so I guess trying to get the info will just be to help whomever buys these things lol.

Thanks for the help though.
