different cylinder heads for an LT4 engine?
I bought an engine that was custom made from a engine builder from Texas. he told me what he used for the engine, he used a (214`/224`@.050" with .488" lift) as he said it is the same camshaft GM used in the "LT4" Corvette, in 1997 provided a factory rating of 360hp. and that is the same as the LT4 Vette motor, but with iron TBI heads.
how well is iron TBI heads? I do know they are stock fuel injection heads, but I almost want to change that. the engine is producing of 360 hp with 380 tq. but I am also wondering what I can do to improve it a little more?
(btw, one cylider head has one mark, and the other cylinder has two marks on the casting. my friends explained to me about it, but at the time, I was too eager to put in my new engine.)
my idea is that all I really need to change is the cylinder heads, unless they are good cylinder heads. but I do want to change my intake, it is a cheapy intake.
any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim

TBI heads are garbage.
Don't expect the same results out of your engine as you'd get from an LT4. There's a whole lot more things that go into an LT4 besides the cam.

Re: different cylinder heads for an LT4 engine?
I can understand that.
so what do you suggest me?
anything that can work with intake and carb Im looking for,
and perform well. by hearing tbi cylinder heads, is like in big noticable letters saying garbage.
but this car has impressed a few people, pretty much everyone that ever driven it.
Only problem is I need to change my rear axle gears, and alot of other things, but Im afraid to go with 4.11 gears, because of hearing it will bring my mpg down. and I use my car as a daily driver.

The LT1/LT4 heads won't fit on previous blocks without significant modifications. Those Vortecs will pretty much equal the LT4 heads, but on a Gen I block.
