doesnt wanna start..........

i got a 85 z28 i just replaced the intake manifold and when i put everything together something got messed up and i was told it was the timing......me and my friend have tried what mechanical inclined people have told us to do. i made sure everything was plugged in and nothing was and i checked like 7 times. we also tried tmiming over and over again[about 6-7 times]. and its cranking very fast like its on steroids!

any sugestions????? =(

I would double-check that you have your distributor stabbed correctly. Does it spit and sputter at all as if it is trying to start? If you are correctly trying to adjust the timing with a timing light then you are at least getting spark on #1 right? Put your timing light on the other plug wires and crank it to be sure you are getting spark on all of them. Also, double check your firing order. Maybe the plug wires are in the wrong order.
