Tq converter to flex plate bolts are tight--still making noise?

I am wondering why my car is still making a loud metallic clacking like soud from the converter/flexplate region.

I raced at the track the one sunday, brought it home and didnt run the car again til like 3 days later and i have that noise at idle that you get when your flex plate to converter bolts become loose. its done this before and when i tightened them up, the noise went away

Now i've checked these bolts 3 times to be sure and they are snug! still get this sound

Did I break something in the trans/converter or crack the flex plate? I did spray the car off the line to a 1.41 and 1.45 60 foot time. But i didnt notice the noise when driving home that day. Its like after it cooled down, the bolts somewhere became loose?

I would say check the flexplate for cracks. Also, check to see if the bolts are bottoming out against the torque converter, making seem like they are tight, but they're not. If not, I know this may be a far shot, but drop the trans pan, see if theres any metel in there, maybe the converter is starting to come apart.

The flexplate can easily be cracked and/or the bolt holes have become ovaled out.

didnt appear to be ovaled, but i'll have to check for flex plate cracks.

the tranny seems to be working ok when normally driving. I'll have to check it out tho it needs a flush. I'm probly gonna yank it all out over winter to refresh anyway

Sounds very much like the flexplate is cracked. Check it out ASAP, it would not be good at all if it let go.
