Slave Cylinder install

In the directions for the slave cylinder it says to remove the retaining straps and allow the rod to fully extend. Then fill with fluid with slave cylinder at 45 degree angle. The part im confused about is what does 45 degree angle mean it has to be relative to soemthing and it doesnt specify what end pointing up or down at 45 degrees. Should the rod point 45 degrees downward while you fill the back up which would be at the top? After you fill it when do you put the retaining strap back on like they say to? after the line is hooked back up ? Thanks for the help

Re: Slave Cylinder install

I'm pretty sure it means a 45 degree angle so that the hydraulic line fitting is at the highest point. This will prevent an air bubble from getting trapped inside.
