driver side first spark plug filed out.....

one day my car started running bad so i took it to some shade tree mechanic and he put some new plugs and he said my first plug on tha driver side filed out...he said it had oil in it.....he showed me the plug and it looked like way past due but it didnt have like oil dripping out or anything it had black stuff caked up a lil little....he said somthing bout the piston or somthing wall might be scatched a lil and letting a lil bit of oil seap in. what you guys think? he said his truck does the same thing and it wasnt that serious that when it starts running bad just change that one plug....when i got the car the guy said it runs rich, does that have anything to do with it filing out?

you can try putting come of that compression restore for 8cyl in it, i may help stop the fouling out of that one plug...

also it could be running rich for many reasons, like it needs a tune up (like plugs and wires, cap and rotor.....maybe a new coil sometimes ...... could be a O2 sensor also

if its running ok now, i wouldnt really give it too much thought. pull it out in a few thousand miles and a have a look at it then.
