Re: Cam question on 305
yes it can, but if I were you(i was at one point put LT1 cam, and new edelbrock timing set in when I did my TPI swap), but I would pull the pan all the way out(have to lift the motor a little to get it out nd change the pan gasket at the sam time. I didn't do this and had/have a major oil leak lost 6 qts in under 1000 miles of driving. but since I'm swappin in a 350 over the winter it didn't really bother me to much.

Thanks for the help
Did you notice a big change with the cam?
I was thinking of not using a LT1 cam but something similar from competition products what do you think here is a link http://www.competitionproducts.com/p...?number=CS1079

Re: Cam question on 305
I wouldn't trust a new roller cam at that price NEARLY as far as I could throw it! Besides, 0-4500 rpm???.....Come on, You're not gaining much with that one!
You'd be better off picking up a used LT1 cam for probably half that price.
As long as it was visibly OK, you'd at least know you have a quality part.
After all that work and expense, I sure wouldn't want to have a sub-quality cam material ruin my engine.

Re: Cam question on 305
Go with the lt1 cam. I wouldn't trust a "new" 99 dollar cam.
I gave up a little low end but I can spin her right up to 5500 rpm and she pulls all the way. bc I lack the funds She will go into my 350 when I do the swap.
You should be able to find one on the boards here for around $30-45. I got mine here.

Re: Cam question on 305
Insper, Would you be interested in a brand new Vortec/LT1-B cam pulled from my new GM Vortec longblock? Never been run.
$50 + shipping and it's yours. That cam makes excellent torque and pulls cleanly past 5000 rpm in a 350. It would pull higher in a 305.
