The Belt on the front of the engine??
This belt just broke. I have another one and am ready to put it on. Can someone post a picture so I can see the pattern as to putting it on. Also what do you loosen in order to get the belt on and have proper tension? The alternator? Thanks Mike In the mean time I will keep searching for an engine compartment picture.

Put a breaker bar in the adjuster and push upward, as shown in the link.

Thanks for the link. I got the pattern. Now what do you loosen to get the belt on? How do you know when you have proper tension? Just by the feel?

Re: The Belt on the front of the engine??
Car wouldn't turnover. Motor was vaper locked or something. It's like everything was to tight with the new belt to move. I put a socket on the big bolt on the alternater so as to move everything.. pistons an all. Went back into car and it started right up. All gages good again but the front end doesn't seem to like that belt... everything is noisy now. not squecking but just loud noise. Is this normal? Does the belt need to break in a bit to quiet down. The engine didn't sound like this before. I am going to take it for a quick spin ... see if anything breaks.
