LT1 intake on vortech heads?
I know vortech heads need an intake designed to work with vortech heads, and I know vortech shares their design with LT1 heads, does this mean the Fuel injection system from the LT1 could be put on a Gen I small block that has vortech heads?
So if you have to machine an Lt1 intake to fit it onto a Gen I small block, and you have to machine tradisional intakes to fit on the Vortech heads, and the vortech heads are designed the same as LT1 heads, then if **** still rolls downhill, I could avoid all the machining by going with a newer EFI all together!
Does any one have any detailed information about this, or writeup from people that have done this?

You would have bigger problems with the coolant and thermostat issues. Far easier to get a TPiS Mini-Ram.

Re: LT1 intake on vortech heads?
The LT1 intake bolt pattern is unique, but the the port layout is the same as a traditional SBC head, no the Vortec layout. They chambers were basically the same between LT1/Vortec heads, but the ports were diferent. As stated, the cooling system problems (no coolant crossover or T-stat housing) are more important swap problems with that intake. They also don't have a place for the distributor.
Best bet is a Stealth Ram... they even have a Vortec version now I believe.
LT1 intakes are cheap, because they only work on the Gen II engines (LT1/LT4/L99) unless you want to spend a ton modifying it.
