car wont start, need some advice on where to find the problem
Ok so my cars battery died the other day, so I jumpstarted my car and it started no problem. Then the next morning I try to start my car and it didn't start, so I jumpstarted it and worked again. I got my alternator tested and its working fine, I pulled out my starter and got it tested and it is fine, I got a new battery because my other battery had a crack in it from my accident and when I put my new battery in it still wont start. What else could be the problem here that I am overlooking. Another weird thing is that after I put my new battery in i tried to jumpstart the car and I turned the key twice and it started. But I know my new battery is not dead yet, after I jumpstarted it i turned the car off and tried to turn it back on again. After turning the key 4 times the car started. The other 3 times the starter never even engaged. Anyone with knowledge on this any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: car wont start, need some advice on where to find the problem
when you say it wont start what do you mean? Does your SES light come on when you turn the key? If not, i'd look to battery cables, every time you are under the hood you might hit something to make a connection. Mine is doing something similar and i go under the hood and shake the cables off the battery and it will heal it. I have to replace all of them so i'm guessing that is the culprit on you. I think there are a few inline fuses right off the + cable that go to the ECM and i'm going to focus there when i try to diagnose what is happening with mine. Good luck...

Check the ground wire from the battery to fender and from battery to the block... Even if they look good .. take them off and clean up / scrap with sandpaper etc.
Whats happening is that there is a grounding problem and when you attach jumpers or a battery charger the ground is there and it starts. I hope this helps you..
try it and post the results. curious if its gonna work for you .. Good luck
