HELP!! Air Cleaner Replacement

Ok so I bought a Mr. Gasket universal air filter 14" x 2.5" with the stock air filter that came with it, looking for a K&N to fit now with a 3" height instead of 2.5 but anyways before that I need help on understanding where some placements need to be put and how to configure this in exchanging it for my other air cleaner that had only 1 snorkel.
(I want a x-stream as well but where could I just find the top cheaper?
http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...LL-_-42203-_-X
All I need now is the top peice and since the cleaner is already chrome i'd like to get the chrome trim if possible)

[Replacement]

What I'm looking to do is see where all these sensors should be placed and the vacuum pump and what not. I have all the items circled in green in the next following pictures. If anyone could explain to me where I should place these without having a "check engine light" or anything wrong with it that would be great. I noticed in the Mr. Gasket one there is a spot for one sensor that's circled in red, but where do the rest go?

Re: Air Cleaner Replacement Custom

in the last pic, that is the knock-out for the breather. In the next pic up, the IAT sensor will need to be installed in the new housing, and I believe the other one is the thermac switch, which is what controls the flap in the snorkel so, that would now be unnecessary. someone correct me if I'm wrong. hope this helps

Thanks but where should i reposition the houses and where should I put these all; also theres a filter type thing i forgot to circle on the snorkel its the hose is blocked by a yellow sponge. I just want to know where to put this all. And I believe the IAT sensor which has the wires attached; how do I take that out? Twist an turn or something?

Is your universal air cleaner a drop base? It might be an optical illusion because of the angle of your photo, but it doesn't look like it.

The "sponge" thing isn't needed if you mount the breather to the knock-out hole in the aftermarket base. You just need filtered air, and the knock-out is inside the filter, while it's outside the filter on the stock air cleaner.

The X-stream lid (and those like it) will sit in the hood blanket, so it doesn't really do any good without a cowl hood.

"knock-out"? Meaning that piece of soldered metal attached to the bottom that would be knocked out? Its flat base just gives the illusion. I bought a valve cover breather but I believe that'll fit in the breather.

Actually, now that I look at it again, it looks like a drop base, like the factory air cleaner.

Re: Air Cleaner Replacement Custom

you could also get a clamp on breather for your crankcase so you dont have to knock another hole it the breather base
