Cam & what other parts needed?
I want to put a better sounding & performing cam in my 89 GTA 350. What other parts are needed for a complete cam install? What cam would you suggest for good low end torque and a lopey sound? I was looking at this cam "Comp cams XE-268H"...Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, sorry I left out a few things. I have the TPI, but thinking of switching to HSR. I have SLP Tri-y headers, 3 inch exhaust w/ cutout, flowmaster 3 inch exhaust, 58 mm TB and thinking of dropping in a lower RPM stall converter..maybe 2500...? Also might add ported plenum, base, and runners.

The XE268 is a flat-tappet cam, which would be a waste of your roller block. Unmodified stock heads are going to limit the amount of lift you can get from a cam, and any cam with a lumpy idle will give your computer fits.

Thanks for the info on the cam timmy. How does it sound? I decided to try out some custom work on the taillight center since it was already broken I figured what the heck, couldn't hurt it anymore. Turned out pretty sweet too! Thanks again for the reply.

Engine sounds pretty sweet! The LT1 cam isn't much more than the stock l98 cam but,I can notice a difference! It has a mild choppy idle and requires no tuning which was a plus for me.
By the way, what did you do to the taillights?
