engine swap, cant keep it to idle

Ok i finally got the car to start. had my timing 180. now it stalls out on me. i can keep it on by revving sometimes. but after a few mins it just dies. i thought it was my altenator so i had it replaced. it still does it. Would my timing do this if it's off? or forgot to connect something. this used to be a 305tbi now it's a 350 carb. Is it possible to but in a cam wrong? i did it dot to dot. Any suggestions in what to look into??

Check your timing, firing order, and vacuum. Is the carb new?
