...Common Fuel Problem??

Hello all, I'm not sure if I'm having a fuel delivery or some other type of problem. It's only happened to me three different times in two days.

O.K., here it goes...the car is an automatic / TBI equipped. It shuts off on me when I'm making left turns, (low speed left turns). I can't say that this happens when making a right turn; not because I've tested it but because this has only happened up to this point, while I'm making left turns. It doesn't seem to matter if I have the wheels up against the stops or in a partial turn.

Event History

1.From a stand still, today, making a left into my driveway from the street, (I have to do this slow or I'll scrape the front end).

2. Earlier today, making a U-Turn in Wendy's parking lot, (not doing dounuts)

3. Making the left turn at the end of my driveway, (about 30'), to turn into the garage. (yesterday).

Additional Facts

-1989 / 87,500 miles
-I'm the second owner of this Camaro, (tons of GM parts still on her).
-Full gas tank
-91 Octane
-GM / AC Delco inline fuel filter, (possibly original, hard for me to tell).
-Injectors appear to be factory units.
-Pretty certain the original fuel pump is in the tank.

I've replaced the ignition control module already, (had that experience with my Suburban). Besides, the car starts instantly after it shuts off.

The engine doesn't sputter - shudder - cough - or backfire... it just plain stops.
I'd like to try to figure this out before I start acting and looking like this...
I'm starting with the fuel filter tomorrow, maybe some matched injectors while I'm at it; couldn't hurt right?

Any input from the collective brain pool out here is welcome...

Happy New Year to all;

Re: ...Common Fuel Problem??

I had a similar problem on my '87 formula. What mine turned out to be was one of those relay bolted to the firewall just to the side of the master cylinder.

The mount broke and the relay got water in it. Every time I would turn too hard the car would die. It would start right back once i got stopped, but taking a hard turn would kill it.

I found out that the water was screwing up the fuse, but I had to turn hard enough for the water to get to it.

Mine was a TPI, yours might not even have those relays, but its something too look at. I was about ready to set mine on fire before I found out what was causing that.
