Distributor Installation Help
I'm putting a new distributor in my 1985 LG4 equipped Z28. I marked all the spots, but when I put the new unit in place, everything lines up, just the Tac and Bat terminals are in the front, not on the driver's side (as they were before). Can I turn the distributor to where I want the tach and battery terminals, then use another nipple for cyl. 1? My timing is in the ballpark also.
Is this the correct solution? Or must I do something else?

Re: Distributor Installation Help
If youre having to rotate the distributor that much to get the timing close, i would suspect that you were somewhat off when you installed the new distributor.
You can use any nipple you want as #1 cylinder you just have to make sure that #1 piston is at TDC compression stroke. Make sure that you run the plug wire from the nipple you choose to #1 plug.
Honestly its easier to just time it like its supposed to be with the right nipple as #1.
