water pump easy-out? HELP

well here it goes so i replace my water pump and i used a 3/8 allen to get the bolt i guess u can call it where my heater hose nipple goes but it stripped out and now im debating if i should drill through it and use an easy out to extract it what do you guys think? i guess i can always get a new water pump cheap... but i dont feel like going through the hassle again to install it...also drilling through the bolt i think will cause metal shavings to fall into water pump so im kinda iffy about it... should i just go for the easy out and if it fails just get a new water pump?

Re: water pump easy-out? HELP

Don't even bother, a new water pump is $17. easy out's are garbage, every time I've used one it's broken off in whatever I was trying to get out making the job 10x harder. A broken drill bit or EZ out is about 1/3 the price of a new pump.

$17 at advance auto parts if you have one near you, autozone should be similar. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...ype=54&PTSet=A
