Fuel Pump Problems???
Is there any way to tell, under normal operating conditions if the fuel pump is headed out the door? Like say for instance: when accelerating, there is hesitation in the gas pedal! And not even just that. Sometimes it feels like I'm losing something as I'm driving! Anybody?????
Re: Fuel Pump Problems???
the easiest and most sure thing to do, assuming that the pump is getting proper power and ground, and the relay is good. would be to get a fuel pressure gauge with a long hose, and hook it up like you are checking fuel pressure, route the long hose under the hood and up the cowl by the wipers, close the hood, and tape the gauge to the window so you can see it clearly, now just drive the car as you would, and monitor the gauge when the vehicle is acting up, if there is a loss of pressure during malfunction, than you most likely have a tired pump. i think stock pressure is somewhere around 40 psi.
