would a 1990 corvette 350 tpi have a 4 bolt main block and/or a steel crank?

Re: corvette 350

It should be 4 bolt main, not that it means anything. I don't remember if the crank is cast or forged in 1990. IIRC it was cast in the years leading up to that, though.

Both of those questions can be answered in a second with the pan off.

Re: corvette 350

I have had several C4s. I have a small library of books on them as well. I can tell you without a doubt that ALL corvettes are 4 bolt main blocks, and 85 and up were forged cranks. No doubt! My 85 was a 4 bolt with forged crank and so was my 89. And so is the 90. If there is not a forged crank in it then the original has been replaced or its not a vette engine.

Re: corvette 350

Make sure its got the aluminum heads. 87 and up vettes all had aluminum heads. There are lots of scammers trying to pass off 5.7 TPI Iroc engines for vette motors.

Not exactly true. I had to rebuild the engine in my 85. It was a forged crank in it. 85 and up were forged cranks, and all 350 vettes got 4 bolt main blocks, C3s and C4s. Even the weak late 70s vettes were 4 bolt main blocks. I know this for a fact.

Re: corvette 350

Which numbers is it though? I've only ever seen 14088526 and 14088535 listed for the F and Y bodies and those are both cast.
