L series engines for dummies ???

O.K. , i'm toying with the thought of an eng. swap . does anyone know of a website that explains and shows for dummies ( like me ) , the differences in the L series engines ? i have searched the web and became frustrated . before i start looking local , i want to know what to look for . i know everyone will say LS1 . in my area there are many more truck engines available than anything else . thanks in advance .

If you're looking for a truck engine I believe it's called the LQ9. One of the magazines did a few tech articles about hopping them up. I think it was Hot Rod Magazine. I'll try to dig them out.

O.K. , maybe i was not clear enough . i just commented that in my area truck engines were more plentiful than car engines . anyway my nephew and his son both have GMC p/u's . one is a 5.7 iron block , the other is 5.3 alum. block . i don't think they would both be LQ9's ? i am looking for a site that explains/shows the different engines . thanks .
