sensor identification help
small sensor on the back of the cylinder head on the drivers side, sensor is about as round as a quarter and has a flat blue top with two prongs coming out and no more than a 3/4" thich. i think its a knock sensor but wanted to double check. and do you need it? none of the cars at the yard had them.

The knock sensor is on the block, in front of the starter (if your car has a knock sensor - only the EFI and L69's had them in '83).
I forget what it is, my Camaro doesn't have it, seem to remember something about an air inlet door?
Do you have the L69?

Re: sensor identification help
That is the cold feed switch for the ram air hood louver on carburated Trans Ams. It senses engine metal temperature and won't allow power to the flapper door until the engine reaches about 150 degrees.
Bypassing it will allow the flapper door to open when the engine is cold and can cause hesitation and stumbling if the outside temp is also low.
