Intermittent Starting problem. Help

I have a 1990 305 TPI Camaro with a T56. It will start when it has been sitting for awhile but if I have just driven it, it won't start. It just slow cranks(very slow). I have put a new starter, new battery, and new positive cable, and have checked the connections. I cannot figure this out. I don't know the extent of the mods to the engine. It does seem to have a mild cam, and it does have shorty headers. Can someone help me out.

Check you negative bat. cable for corrsion and good ground. - Repl. if necessay

Check the connections on the starter and signal wire to the solenoid.

My 91 Z28 has a 383 mild cam and required a two new bat cables and gear reduction starter to get it started after I droppped in the 383
