Security Questions
It came to my attention that it is extremely easy to break into these cars. I locked my keys in my car and didn't have my spare with me, I won't mention how on here for future safety unless people need to know and can prove it. My car doesn't have VATS in it and I'm concerned for my car. Is there anything I could do that isn't too costly?

Re: Security Questions
Good ideas..... but the fuel pump is mechanical and I'm also worried about the stereo system and I'm not sure if people would steal the T-tops (the locks on them don't work). I want to put a second gen steering wheel on it, would that be easy to make detachable?

As far as breaking in to steal your stereo you can install a fogger.
Install a stereo with a removable coded faceplate.
It’s easy to make your car about theft proof.
The typical car thief is nothing but a loser therefore not smart enuff to get his own car so tries to steal yours.
Remedies are too numerous to list.
You can install sheet metal in the door making it impossible to use a slim jim.
(I know some of you don’t want that in case you lock you keys in.)
Keypad lockout of the ignition.
Hidden switches.
Switches which have to be touched in a certain order so even if they’re not hidden.
A timer that makes the loser think he is getting away by starting the car but it stalls after several seconds and only you know the secret to defeat it.
Tilt switches to provide towing alerts.
Happy Racing!
If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going BackwardsHow bout those dorks too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime!

Re: Security Questions
I didn't use a slim jim to break into my car, in fact, how I broke into it was so incredibly easy it's a wonder these cars haven't been broken into all the time. Though I have heard that these cars had problems with getting stolen until they had VATS. I even locked my keys into my car this past thursday and broke into it again. Anyone with any nerve could do it in a heartbeat and if the person is desperate enough than nothing's going to stop them. All it took was a simple knife, a screwdriver would work, anything that is small and sturdy.

Re: Security Questions
I'm planning on installing a reed switch across my starter solenoid wiring.
And having a magnet on my keys to bring magnetic proximity.
There are kits you can buy on ebay for under 20 bucks with RFID technology.
Like the higher end modern vehicles have...i.e. the card in the pocket deal.
Just on a closer measure.
