The last time my Camara(as i call her) was idling rather high at about 2500rpm upon start up, it wasn't a vacuum leak. Turned out to be a problem with my choke. The coil opening mechanism needed to be tightened, which even with the help of a buddy of mines it literally took 5hrs since we had to put it back together after we took it apart.
Anyway, she just recently took started idling at 2500rpms again. Im don't have the skills to take of the air filter and fiddle around with th inside of the choke valve again on my own, nor do i know how to find a vacuum leak, and i dont have a down payment on a house money to pay a mechanic to "figure" anything out.
any help would be appreciated.

First make sure the choke is getting 12 volts when the engine is running. You'll need a volt meter or multi-meter ($10) to do that.
Since you had to adjust the thermostat to get it to stop before, most likely the thermostat has gone bad. A new one is about $40 (maybe less), and is held on with 3 screws.

Wondering will this also solve my dieseling issues? In the past it would occasionally diesel maybe two three times per week. since last week its gotten progressively worse and went from dieseling for about 10 sec every time i turned the car off to about 45sec everytime.
Another thing where do I buy these at Autozone etc?
TIA

How warm are you running. Cause isnt dieseling caused by too much cylinder pressure/heat? Yea autozone would have them, prob have the multimeter too.

From what I understand "Deiseling" is when the upon turning off the ignition and your car is like it is trying to start up again, and in my case, accompanied by shakes and rumbles. Cant really describe the sound, like nothing my ears are used to. The best i can think of is a harsh sputtering.
Was told it could be a timing issue, among other things.
