Need some opinions....
Whats up guys. I have a 1991 camaro rs 305 carbrated, I was thinking of swapping it with a 350tpi but eventually I wanna go with a 383. Of course thats gona cost a pretty pennie so for the mean time im thinking of building up my 305 a lil. I was gonna go with a full exhaust headers ect. A new carbrater, Intake manifold, Myabe even some heads, Pullies. What suggestions you guys have? I dont wana hear dont waste your money and get a 350. I used to have a mustang and I had Magnaflow on that it sounded good. Then I got pissed because fords break all the time so I went and bought my camaro. Thanks guys will be looking forward to hearing back....

Well keeping in mind that you do want to swap this motor out for something larger i would stick to parts that can be reused on any motor you decide to use. So i think that should be the first thing you figure out. Also i wouldnt recomend swapping to a 350 to later swap to a 383 just every time consumeing and costly when you can like u said beef up the 305 with parts to be used on the 383 and save for the 383. Ide say your best bet is like you say in the exhaust. I recomend the hooker part number 2055 i think? Its a header and y pipe set. A high flow cat and good cat back. I like the magnaflow because its all stainless meaning the last time you will ever have to do your cat back and best yet its about the same price as most other aftermarket cat backs. However to me nothing sounds better than a flowmaster very primal aggressive sound to it. I use magnaflows now and i dont care for them much. Its like the filter out all the engine noise and just leave u with a very deep sound. Its like you can feel it befor you even hear it. Just my oppinion though. For other mods a cold air intake would help some roller rockers especially with the 1.6 ratio will be real good. I personally wouldnt do pullies as the just make your accessories run slower which kinda sucks when your headlights get brighter as rpms increase. Some new steeper gears in the rear will really wake the 305 up. Ide also look into the cooling aspect get an aluminum radiator ect. Might also look into getting a cowl hood or something not just for cold air but so you can run a taller intake manifold. I know my favorite intake ive used so far was edelbrocks airgap RPM but just a tad too tall for a stock hood without a scoop. Wider wheel will also help make the car faster with better traction even if there a set of stock 16X8 iroc wheels.
