distributer help car wont start

Engine: LG4
Transmission: A4
Axle/Gears: 2.73
distributer help car wont start
so yesterday i did a simple distributor rotor and cap swap. put everything on correctly and it wont start. i triple checked the rotor, cap, ground, coil and spark plug wire order and everything is correct and should start but its not and im stumped and in need of help

Well something not quite right first though alittle info on the car is it a HEI type distributor or one with a remote mounted coil? Next to be clear all you did was dissasemble the distributor itself to swap parts? No timing adjust or plugs wires or any other kind of work for that matter?
