i have 91 camaro rs 305ci. when i bought it it had a valve tap. at first didnt know it was a valve tap or manifold leak. today i used a stethascope thing and listened. and well it is a valve tap. my friends dad did not know how to fix it.


my question is
how is this fixed and what is the procedure.

 

First,make sure all the exhaust manifold bolts are tight.

Pick up a manual at your local parts store and follow the valve adjusting procedure in the book. If the lifter (not valve) is still pecking it may just be bad and need to be replaced. Then the intake will need to come off. If you need to do this replace all of them.

 

i do have a book and i will check it tomorrow, since i have ot work today.
