Ignition wire lengths & positions

I bought new ignition wires at a swap meet today, believing they were for a chevy, + how big differences can there be between GM V8's (?)..
However, when I came home I found out that the Taylor 64604 I got was for Buick's, Old's, & Pontiac's, whereas I should have had a 64607 set.
The other thing I found (or rather not found) out was that the individual lenghts and their respective spark position was nowhere to be found..
Now, I know I could always ask Taylor about it, but somehow I believe I would only be told to buy the correct kit and not be informed about the lengths and their placement...?
Put them out on a table alongside the originals from the engine you might say.. Well, the "original" wires are not - well, very original, you might say..
So before I start experimenting with - and soiling - the new wires to see if I can make them fit, I thought I could ask here if any of you have ever come across any info/ tables about this seemingly trivial thing..
If not, could it be an idea to build a database of our own? Of course I already measured the lengths and resistances of the 64604 set I got.
