what cam??
i have a older gm 350 crate motor around 97 it only has 20000 mile and i have a big intake and 600 cfm carb. i just wanted to know what kind of cam i should get i want to go as big as i can with good street manners and power for the track.

Also need details such as the heads on the engine, as many of those crate engines don't benefit from a lot of cam.
What intake? Compression ratio?

Re: what cam??
If it's really stock heads (pull a valve cover, get a casting number), then a Team G intake is a severe mismatch. You'd be better off with a dual plane.
If it's stock heads, you're limited to lift under about .480". The list of cams that fit that lift, and run in the powerband of the single plane intake you've got are very very slim.

Re: what cam??
given the number of different crate engine combos available from GM (aka: truck replacement, performance crate...) there really isnt any way for us to guess which heads you have. if you remove a valve cover and copy the 7-digit casting number down, then we can offer more specific advice. however if i had to venture a guess i would say it probably has some form of swirl port head. That means the heads are optimized for low end torque and fuel economy, the intake you currently have is optimized for top end power, hence the mismatch.

Again, need the casting #'s. Depends upon how old, and "Corvette" doesn't always mean much.

Re: what cam??
in general the gmpp hot cams have always made decent power
with just about any sbc heads. seems very popular with the low budget mag. racers
made some good power with vortec heads and dual plane intake,
Super Chevy buildup

Doesn't look right. Can't find anything like that.
Those are genuine LT-1 heads. Straight or angle plug? Not bad heads for the time, probably worth considering.

Re: what cam??
they are angled plugs.
so what cam would go good with that setup?
GM 350, stock bottom end
9.5/1 comp.
2.02/1.60 heads
edelbrock air gap dual plane intake
headers
aluminum roller rockers
and now i have a edelbrock carb. 650 cfm.

Re: what cam??
Try Comp Cams XE268H. You can use it with a stock converter and has decent idle. Would recommend the K kit so all you valve train parts match.
