White smoke that Smells Gas

hey any advice would be greatly appreciated. i have a '91 3.1L v6 has white smoke coming out of the exhaust that REAKS of gasoline( not anti-freeze i am not losing any antifreeze. Antifreeze is still green as can be and no sign what-so-ever of antifreeze in the oil i changed yesterday). it idles horribly in drive or neutral, but if i put it in neutral and tap the gas it smoothes out until the RPM's come back down and then it starts its horrible idle again. the whole time its oozing white smoke the reaks of gas. this past week i have changed: distributor cap, rotor button, spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil, coolant temp. sensor, TPS, IAC, all fuses under dash, and oil. I even drained the gas tank at put Cheveron 93 octane in it. i am at a blank. im pretty sure its a fuel delivery problem, i just do not know what to check. i would greatly appreciate any advice ya'll are willing to give. thank you in advance

Re: White smoke that Smells Gas

Hey man, my car had the same problem when I got it. I also have the same motor. I sent it to the shop and they replaced the EGR valve, distributor O-ring, plugs and wires and that fixed it! The white smoke is a mix of condensation and gas. Also make sure you chek your air filter. I think I had the original one in mine! It was nothing but pure black crap and dirt. The day I got the car I drove only 60 miles, just driving around getting used to it, and I had to stop and fill up TWO times!! 26 gallons of gas! So try that and see if it helps. My fuel mileage was horrible until I did all that.

Re: White smoke that Smells Gas

The erratic idle could have triggered the MAP code.
