ive never had this problem on any other car or ever even heard of it

its very hard for me to check my oil level

the side that has the measurements barely gets oil on it

on the opposite site oil all the way up the top where it should be

if i had measurement lines on that side id be good


this is for as long as ive had the car which is 2yrs

i just dont know how to fix this and/or what to do

its a 1986 trans am 305 tpi

 

Its probably just getting scraped off when you pull it out of the block. Eather that or thin oil and gravity is workin against ya. I suppose its possable that theres something on the dip stick that the oil cant even stick to well but ive still got my money on its just getting scraped off. You could always install the dipstick upside down to get the oil on the right side.

 

i tried putting it in the other way and its twisted/bent/contoured/curved in such a way it only goes in one way

i can live it was just curious cuz its annoying

 

just take a file and cut hi and low marks on the other side of the dipstick
