I just bought a 1989 Corsica 2.8L auto w/ 53,000 miles for a daily driver. Has anybody on here ever owned one? The trans sometimes jerks into gear, and after driving it smells like its leaking a little oil. When driving at low speeds i can feel a slight hesitation. Any feedback would be appreciated.

 

those are terrible cars. IMO budget domestic vehicles should be avoided at all costs... stick to the muscle cars and pickups, if you want a cheap daily driver get an old toyota or volkswagen...

 

This site is, as you know, is designed for thirdgens. Perhaps another site would better serve your interest in Corsicas.

I could really care less about Corsicas its just something to drive everyday to keep the miles off my third gen. I was just wondering what experiences/thoughts people have had with them.

 

I had one years ago. Fairly quick for a grocery getter of its time, as I remember It would like to break engine mounts if I dogged on it. (which I did a lot of)

An oil leak is an oil leak, but Id check all of the mounts if its jerking into gear.
