i got new vortec heads from jegs and the edelbrock tpi vortec intake manifold the heads did not come with rockers, pushrods and bolts and my questions are: will the rocker arms and pushrods from the lb9 fit into the vortec heads or will i need diferent ones? can i use the stock headers until i come up with enough cash to purchase new ones? and what is a good camshaft for this setup?

 

'86 LB9, correct?

You can't use the '86 rocker arms. Vortec heads (these are stock GM heads, correct?) use self-aligning rocker arms, which were used on '88-up engines. Easiest thing would be to buy new ones for '88-up.

The pushrods would be fine, but it's usually recommended to replace them when replacing the rockers. Use '86 pushrods.

A Comp XE262 would be a nice upgrade over the stock cam. You'll need new lifters as well.

 

The stock exhaust manifolds should bolt up. If you do swap cams, don't forget to break it in!
