How to tell if speedo cable is bad?

Car: 90 Formula WS6, 86 Sport Coupe
Engine: 305 TBI, 2.8 MPFI
Transmission: 700r4, 700r4w/vette servos
Axle/Gears: 2.73 Open, 3.42 Open
How to tell if speedo cable is bad?
Is there any way to tell if the speedo cable is bad or the speedo head itself? My speedometer is completely dead, like alot of other things on my car

The speedometer is electric in a 1990 Firebird, there is no speedo cable.

The VSS often seems to be the culprit in issues with electronic speedos. You might consider a search for more info.

THANK YOU! I haven't stuck my head under the dash that far yet so I wasn't sure what kind of speedo it has. I'm sure it's the sensor, I think every sensor is bad on this car
