Ok just got the car back from the 3 month paint shop stay, and put ,some fresh gas in it and it runs like a champ...BUT.... It will not idle for Nothing..It just dies..I pulled out the air filters, no change, Its full of 93oct. It will start right back up real fast and then just die...there is nothing that jumps out at me..any thought's ?

 

Any ideas?

 

bump. the same thing happened to me, but it was at a stoplight and right as the light turned green, it died. i was probably idling for about 30 seconds. and then again when i was pulling in to my driveway, i didnt have enough time to put it in park before it died.

 

Ok, I removed the throddlebody,Cleaned it and cleand the iac hole, all tho it realy didn't look that bad.. but it made a big difference, No more problem! Thanks to everyones help! Sorry 4 the bad spelling....

look at your distributor and make sure its tight then try to check your timing.

 

Ok, I took off the upper intake to remove the EGR , I have been getting the EGR code sence i bought the car a year ago, but iv never had any problems, Last week i got the car a state inspection with emmission and it passed with flying colors..So i was running out of things to check, i thought o well,sence i had a code for this i will go head and fix it. there was a piece of carbon like a little rock, holding the egr from closing,letting to much exhust gas back in to the intake track. so i spent all day cleaning the egr,upper intake and the little egr hole in the intake, i put it all back together and no code has poped up and it seems to run like a champ!!
