All the extras to a H/C/I swap. Timing chain and RR questions.
So my cam is here. The AFR 1040's are paid and on their way. The HSR and all the other accessories I'd like to order this weekend.
Here's my list:
Comp Cam 1.5 RR's - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...6&autoview=sku
Comp Cam Lifters - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...6&autoview=sku
Comp Cams double roller - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
Timing chain cover - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...W&autoview=sku
Hardened push rods will be ordered when I find the length I need. Haven't decided on what size injectors either.
Are those the correct RR's I need? Also the timing chain says "Will not fit factory roller cam applications." Yet it lists it for my car? Maybe I should buy this one: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku Any answers would be appreciate. Thanks

The timing set wont fit factory hyd roller cams. The bolt spacing on the snout is different. Was your block align honed? If so you'll want to measure the center to center measurement between the cam and crank to see if you'll need an undersized timing set.
Rockers look ok.

I think you're mixing factory and aftermarket style parts in your head. Forget what is listed for your car, you need what works with the aftermarket or factory style parts you're getting.
If the heads have guide plates (I'm guessing they do, since you mentioned hardened pushrods), you don't want self aligning rockers. The good news is the 1411-16's are 30 bucks less. Did you consider the Pro Magnums? Full roller rockers, more expensive, but they do fit under stock valve covers. Probably the best roller rockers out there. Any particular reason for the new lifters? I'd save the money there, use the stock lifters, and get the better Pro Magnum rockers.
If your cam is a factory roller type, you need a factory roller timing set. Don't confuse that with "double roller" - that's referring to the chain type, not the cam type. The correct Comp timing set for factory roller cam is 2136. Note they're pretty proud of that part. The Summit G6601 is much more reasonably priced.

Thanks for the reply guys. As I'm sure you can tell, this will be my first build. Should be interesting to say the least. I've been doing a ton of reading trying to educate myself.
So here's the chain I want then (SUM-G6601): http://store.summitracing.com/partde...1&autoview=sku
As far as the RR's. I'd be willing to pay more for a better product that will work with the stock valve covers. Can you point me into the right direction as far as which ones? I found 1.6's, that are not self aligning. It says for 1968 to 1986. I just want to make sure they will work before I purchase them. Like you said, since the heads have guide plates, I need non self aligning. Link: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...6&autoview=sku
It appears the 1.6's are the better choice to give me more lift correct?
L98's use push rods. So why do most people get self aligning? Do they not have guide plates also?
