ESTConnector location?

I have tried to set the timeing on my 87 4bbl ccc lg4 without any luck. (Totally stock with the smaller distributor, comp controlled).I have looked in a 2 thirdgen manuals (1 camaro/1 firebird) and both say that the est connector is a 1 wire connector with a tan wire/black tracer in and out. I know exactly what it looks like since I had an 87 350 tbi blazer had with this same deal. Anyway, I have been looking for over two hours for the son if a bitch and am totally dumfounded where it is. I have looked in all the wire harnesses up by the ac condenser to behind the block then over to the driver side and no luck. Actually I did at least find a tan wire with black tracer but it comes out of the biggest harness and goes behind the block and down to the trans and plugs in on top of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bret

Re: ESTConnector location?

I found a 1 wire connector sitting down below the strut mount running along the top of the fram rail and it actuall goes to a battery terminal connector. It is bright orange in color. For the hell of it I unhooked it while the car was running and it started running very rough and died. Is this connector for something completely different or could this be the one? It is the only single wire connector on the passenger side all together, plus my other wire harnesses that are halfway near the ac condenser do not have a tan wire with a black tracer anywhere in them except for the one mentioned in my first post that goes with 2 other wires and plugs into the trans. The car is a bone *** stock lg4 car with 79000 original miles and has never been changed in any way. Any ideas? Thanks, Bret
