Fuel pump and oil filter

This may belong in swap thread, not sure. I am putting a former TBI 350 in a carbed 83 Z. I am using an inline electric fuel pump at the tank(not in) and was looking for suggestions were to pull power from for pump. Would like it to be passive (no switch). Any Ideas??? BTW, it is staying carbed.

Also, the motor is AC/Delco reman and with 57kid's help figured it to be from 87-94 truck. The oil filter for said truck does not seem to fill the recession for it. What filter should I use???

Re: Fuel pump and oil filter

All right ya'll. help me out please. This motor just dumped a second load of oil on the floor from the oil filter. I thought I had the wrong one and tried another...same result. I have the fuel pump powered now, just need to understand why it fills the oil filter then the floor.

Re: Fuel pump and oil filter

Problem with filter found but not solved!!!!!! It appears there is a blockage in oil passages. I got it fired up for the first time and no oil pressure. Shut it down and under the car is another puddle of oil. I feel the blockage is stronger than the filter seal and blowing out. Could this be a spun main bearing??? I figure after all this work, that is the best conclusion I can come up with. Any help with this would be nice. I seem to be the only one on this thread.
