Lifter roller squeel

Can a lifter roller intermittenly squeel like the sound of a water pump bearing ? This is on a factory roller cam engine with possible dexcoolant damage. If left to squeel, (usually at below 1,000 rpm) can it freeze up and destroy the cam? Thanks for any help.

Not that I've ever heard. If the lifter roller chews itself to pieces it has the common decency to do it quietly until the point of catastrophic failure.

Re: Lifter roller squeel

Ugh....could cam berings sqeel only at low rpm....it gives a slow eek sound when shut off. Any thoughts are apreciated! A lifter or rocker tapped at first start up, then went away, now the screech, from that side.
