LT1 cam in an LG4?
LT1 cam in an LG4?
Hey guys, new to the forum. I used to have a built 95 z28 which 3 years ago had a tragic meltdown the day it was finished due to a fuel line that wasnt hooked up. Anyways it means i have a stock LT1 cam sitting here in my room. I bought a 1986 camaro a year ago and am finally getting tired of my stock 155 horsepower LG4. I just acquired an aluminum summit intake manifold and was wondering if my LT1 cam would in fact fit into the LG4. I thought it might but I dont want to dig my way down there and find out i am wrong. So does anyone know for sure if i can stuff an LT1 cam into an LG4? Thanks guys.

Welcome to TGO. The LG4 didn't go to roller cam until 87. Yours should be a flat tappet block which would require retrofit roller lifters to match the LT1 cam. Probably not worth it.

Grab a 260-H from comp cams with the valve springs and some new lifters. That cam is a BAD *** in my friends 283. My dads 327 had a 262-H with 'fuelie' heads and a performer rpm airgap (stock that moor was a 365hp vette motor...its more tame now)
That motor will rip for a street motor and it'll sound nice as well
