i got an 87 iroc tpi and i was doing some upgrades and it set for about a month and when it came time to put on my roller rockers i found that when i was adjusting them i could push the lifter down easy by hand.is that normal the lifters are the stock rollers that came in it in 87 iv also found them kinda touchy to adjust and seems as if every time i pull my vavle covers it looks as if no vavles are ever open lol like the cam is gone lol.i would have got new ones when i rebuilt but thery so expensive.do you think thats where my powere los is going seems like i can only do 100 and thats it and should i be able to push the pushrod down in the lifter so easy like that thanks guys!!!!!!

 

If the lifters are not loaded with oil it should be very easy to depress the plungers. Once they are filled with oil (a good reason for keeping them soaking) that shouldn't occur.

 

well it seems as if they bleed off real quick and almost every morning they are pretty noisey untill they get pumped.im just wondering if im loseing power because of them not opening the valves all the way.iv rebuilt the motor and thats the only thing i didnt replace besids the cam and it seems as if it still dosent have quite the power it had when my brother first got it.i even went 40 over flat tops and 1.6 roller rockers 21 pound venom injectors headders port matched the tuned port adjustable fuel pressure reg msd ignition accel super coil thats about it for the engin.it runs good but not quit like it did.i think it was like about 4 or 5 years old when he got it and it would peg the speedo at 145 and keep going but now 100 110 is about it.all i can think of is the lifters.im going to put on new aluminum heads probly a little bigger cam and a few other gooides next time around if anyone has any advice on some more parts for good power let me know especially about my lifter problem thanks everyone..............
