LT1 Alternator Bracket Question

I know I'm no longer a third genner I'm a fourth genner but I had two questions on my LT1 that maybe someone can answer for me. First does anyone here know a location I could find information on replacing an alternator bracket, The alternator bracket in my car atm is a little broken.... And secondly what is the material they make the bracket out of I think its forged aluminum if it is indeed. Is it possible to cut the broken peice off and weld a new one onto it?

You guys have always been a big help hoping for some info on this,

Thanks for anything you offer guys,

Thermaltrans

Re: LT1 Alternator Bracket Question

I did realize it was called an Accessory Bracket instead of an Alternator Bracket, but the question remains the same. On an LT1 anyone know all the parts that have to be removed prior to removal and installation. From what I can tell Power Steering Pulley AC Condenser and Alternator for it but I'm not sure are there more things that require removal?

Re: LT1 Alternator Bracket Question

I have no personal experiance with LT1 acessorys, but I believe GM made the serpentine brackets out of cast aluminum.
