the black cylinder in the front driver side corner of my car is makinga hissing noise like a vacume leak but i cant find it spraying it down with ether and other ideas. also my cruise control stopped working some time within the last week the plunger in that diafram feals extremely hard to push in by hand well harder then i thought it was and suggestions o and whats in that canister? do i need it?

 

The one on top is the charcoal canister. Look below it under the car and you'll see a black plastic ball. Check for the leak there.
