Help car wont start!
i installed a new fuel pump and new msd ignition among other things in my freshened up 1987 350 tpi. i have spark to the plugs and fuel to the fuel rails i can even smell gas on the fresh never ran plugs! the engine will crank but it wont give me even a hesitation or any combustion at all. could my timing be that far off to not get any combustion what so ever? i pretty much killed a brand new optima red top battery just trying to start it through all these issues ive been having so i have very little start left till i gotta recharge the thing in a different car. any ideas anyone? i cut out a buncha stuff including all emissions equipment(air, egr, fuel canister) if anyone has ideas let me know. thanks!

Sounds like you are either way out on the timing or your plug wires are on the cap wrong.
Hope this helps.

Also when you freshened up your 350 did you set the valve lash right ? You may not be getting compression due to the valves hanging open . Thread Starter
