New motor

So i need some help, just put a new motor in and cant seem to figure out why its idleing high like 1500 rpm all the time, but also the heater controls inside the car dont work either so i was thinking vaccum leak? but i dont know were to start looking any help is appreciated thanks.

It's tough to say... you didn't mention what kind of motor you have.

With the motor running, take a can of carb cleaner and spray it around the intake, on hose connections, etc. (anywhere a vacuum leak could occur).

If the motor idles differently, you found your leak.

thanks for the reply, but ive actualy tried that and coudlnt seem to find anyting, and its a rebuilt 350 in a 87 gta, the thing that seems to be confusing anyone i talk to is that the heater are stuck on defrost and they all thing it has something to do with vaccum.
