Re: intake runner

sure there are formulas, but experience works just as well for this. The Vortecs will feed a 350 well enough for 400 hp at 5600 rpm with the GM "hot" cam. AFR 180cc heads will provide 450 horses at 5500-6000 rpm, TFS 195s will provide about the same, but don't catch the Vortecs until 2400 rpm, Sportsman2s never catch the Vortecs, Patriot Freedom 185s are no better and no cheaper than Brodix IK180s which surpass the vortecs, for just $700/pr. bare, et cetera et cetera.

Re: intake runner

Sportsman 2's have 200cc intake runners...which is alright. They are pretty cheap, which is the major convenience. I'm running those in my camaro right now...if you can do some head work those can easily get 220 cc's...even 240 with some SERIOUS work

Re: intake runner

i pretty much had my mind set on trick flow super 23's.i happened to see one day summit had a set of heads that seemed pretty identical except the runners were 170 and the tfs are 195.i asked summit which would be better and they said the summit heads.they're both the same price so i figured id research a little more.

Re: intake runner

For a 327, a 170cc head has the advantage under 3000 rpm. Above 5000 rpm, the 195 is much better.
