Destroyed engine!!! Help?? Shop put flat tappet cam in Roller engine.

I need some facts please.

have a Gen VI ZZ502 in my '92, yep a lot of work and $$$. Had to have some valve work done and decided to put in a more agressive cam for the (show) lumpy idle sound. Had to use a new shop and could not be involved in every step.

Long and short was the engine fail less than 100 miles later. A bearing spun, coolant in the oil.(also used wrong head gasket)

With a new builder involved we found among other things the first mechanic used a flat tappet cam in place of the roller cam. So I ended up with a flat tappet cam with stock GM roller lifters and everything else that was stock.

You can see where the rollers wondered over the face of the cam.

Other than common since knowledge where can I find documentation as to this not being able to be done with a resulting failure?

Is there any "labs" or inspection service I could send my parts to document the use of wrong parts?

This error has caused the need for a complete rebuild, Now More $$$$$$$$

so let me get this right...
-spun rod bearing b/c wrong head gasket that leaked water into engine
-flat tappet cam with rollers (this is bad seeing how flat tappets ride on 1/2 of the lobe and rotate
sounds like u need to find a reputable garage if you arent the one wrenching on ur car.

they should be paying for everything they did wrong. Me i would see what they are going to do about it and depending on the amount of $$ its going to take i would hire a lawyer and have him send a letter to the garage. If that doesnt work tell him your taking to court and you can at least get a lien on his business or something. You have reciepts? They should stand behind their work and own up to screwe ups. or at least give u free labor and 50% off parts.

Yep! Yep! and More Yeps
I have all my documentation, Gave the shop a chance to correct, and yes I have already been to an Attorney and action will result. The engine shop I am using now has been building race engines for years and has an EXCEPTIONAL reputation. I just need to do some research and documentation. NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO GO!!!!!
