92 rs clogged tbi vacumm port,pcv---car smokes?

My car started smoking and I have discovered that my pcv valve and the vacumm port(front of tbi on 92rs 305) is completely stopped up. It is full of old oily sludge. The car had been sitting up for 2 years. Could this be causing my car to smoke? Help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably not cause smoke out the tailpipe, but it needs fixed anyway, so have at it.

Fresh PCV valve, clean out the PCV hose and hose nipple on the TB, and make sure the fresh air hose from the air cleaner housing down to the other valve cover is clean and free to flow as well.

Thanks.....I just thought since the car could not breath that it could force oil around the rings. I added 2 bottles of fuel injector cleaner and my car seems to have started smoking at start up and when you rev it up....Is there anyway to tell if I have a stuck ring?

smoking at start-up sounds more like bad valve stem seals. Since these use the o-ring style (and not the umbrella like some of the older models), they can crack and allow oil to drip into cylinders.

all of the above . also a good time to replace all vacuum lines since its been setting a long time . start up smoke is often valve seals . sometimes it can be just the drain passages at the lower front & rear of cylinder heads . they get sludged up over the years and don't drain oil back to crankcase as fast as it should . remove valve covers & check them first . dis-connect battery first or may blow a fuseable link when you remove valve covers . good luck .

I agree the smoke at start up is the valve seals, but yes the pcv hose being stopped up will make it smoke when running. It buils up pressure in the crank case and can force oil in the cylinders.
